Degree Requirements
- A certificate of achievement from Medical Assisting, Practical Nursing, and Pharmacy Technician Certificate
Programs with a minimum of 45 and a maximum of 60 credits pertaining specifically to that occupation.
Graduates from similar programs at other Washington community colleges or accredited vocational-technical schools
may also be candidates.
- A minimum of 25 credits in approved general education or related instruction courses in the following
categories:
- 5 credits of communication (written or oral)
- 5 credits of computation or quantitative reasoning
- 5 credits of human relations
- 10 credits from the list of approved courses for the AA Degree
- (5 credits from US Cultures or Global Studies, unless used for the human relations requirement)
- (5 credits from any of the remaining areas including Language and Speech; Literature/History of Ideas;
Music, Art, and Theater; Individuals and Societies; the Physical Universe; the Living World; or Science,
Technology and the Environment/Language of Science)
- Up to 20 elective credits (vocational or academic transfer) as necessary to complete the 90 credits total required
for the degree.
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.0. Other requirements may be established by faculty or administrative
policies. It is important to check with the Health/Medical Division Office for additional information and academic
advising.
- A minimum of 15 credits earned at North Seattle Community College.
